Too many follicles - cancelled first IUI

Hi - I'm new to this forum and have a question.  I just cancelled my first IUI myself due to hubby and I feeling I had way too many mature follicles and reduction is not an option for us so the risk was just too high for us.  My doctor said she was fine with how many I had yesterday to proceed.  I am 33 years old and I had 4 follicles at 19, 1 at 18, 2 at 17, 1 at 16, 1 at 10, 1 at 9, and 1 at 8 so all in all 8 mature follicles.  My estrogen was 2031.  I feel like the fertility practice I go to is very aggressive and I'm worried about what to say when I call in today to cancel the IUI appointment for tomorrow.  I would like to try again next month but am worried they are going to give me a hard time because I did not go through with this IUI.  Any thoughts?

Thanks for the feedback ladies!  I do feel we made the right decision. My doctor called me last week and told me she really thought we should have gone ahead but she is not the one that has to live with the consequences and reduction is not an option for me so I know we made the right decision.  I know that things will work out the way they are supposed to.  Thanks!

I think that if you feel there was too many than you made the right choice. My dr won't do IUI with more than 4 follies over 14. I think that is a safe number especially since I got pg with only 1 over 14. Good luck to you, these are hard decisions and only you can make the best choice for you and your family.

You need to do whats right for you and your hubby!!!  We wouldn't have feelings if they didn't mean anything.  Good luck next month!!!
