Im sorry your insurance does not cover it. Here is MA is always covered.
Stay positive..... you are right:)
I also have a child and four failed IVF so who knows right? (unexplained infertility as well!!! It has not been my time.... yet:). Maybe next time :) I hate it when they say everything looks great, even the eggs and then I don't get pregnant, but I understand it now... they can't not know how the eggs look fron the inside unless they do chromosome testing. They based their judgement on the outside (fragmentation, number of cells, etc)
My FSH is at a 9 but the FSH test i had 2 mos prior to that one, it was at a 5 so i'm not so sure how accurate the tests are. The dr did not say that the 2 follies were an issue it's just that i had hoped for a couple more to better my chances and they are both on my left and even tho my tubes are open based on my HCG, it's still lessen's my chances. Anyway - i guess i will try to stay positive. My dr told me when we started this that IVF was way down the road for me since i've had a baby already and everything else is normal (we are unexplained but I'm 38 so they're basing it on that) but maybe it will be the best bet. I can't keep dropping $3K on IUI (with meds etc) because insurance doesn't pay - but i know IVF is super expensive but i'd rather save up for that than keep spending the $3K.
pol - good luck with your IVF!!
Well, I'd think that getting 2 nice follicles like that would be exactly what you'd want in an IUI... I don't know why your doctor would say it's not good enough? It is in an IVF that you'd want to see more than that. During my 4th (failed) IUI, I completely over-responded (as usual) and had 9 follicles. My doctor said that she'd only let me continue with the cycle if I agreed to a potential reduction if multiple fertilization occurred. I agreed, but it still didn't work... with 9! In the end, I was glad, though, that I didn't have to make any decisions about the reduction; it's hard enough to deal with all this :( Now I'm doing an IVF, and, supposedly, I'm a great candidate for it as I respond well to the meds. Good luck to you!
How was your FSH before all of this started? Why don't they do IVF instead?
