HCG TRIGGER SHOT

I'm scheduled to get mine tonight...and basically, I'm scared of how bad it's going to hurt...Does anyone know? Does it hurt? I'm supposed to get it in the back side muscle and am terrified.

YEP!! I'm totally letting God take the wheel. After I had an ectopic, I've learned things are out of my control :) and I'm ok with that. I was told to go back after one week of the trigger shot to test...umm..I forget what, but then to go back the next week (2 weeks after the shot) for a preg. test...Keep me posted!!

My doctor didn't say whether I should or shouldn't have used OPKs. I really haven't used them on a regular consistent basis this time around since I'm being monitored. I don't have another appointment scheduled as of right now. She told me to wait 2 weeks before testing. The Clomid tends to make the menstrual cycle start a little late. Also with the trigger shot from my understand it can give false positives. So I'm not going to test until my cycle is truly late and several days late. I'm going to try to stay occupied for the next two weeks and not symptom spot. I'm truly going to give it to god. I trust him.

Nope I'm not, the docs didn't suggest that I should...should I??? Hmmm...maybe I will just for fun today. When do you get your preg. test? I go in two weeks....

Are you using OPKs? I definitely felt myself ovulate. The Clomid tends to bring more pain when ovulation is occurring. I sure hope I get my BFP. This has been a long two years of trying. I'm so ready. Please keep me posted.

Yes I needed clomid. Hopefully it works. I don't think I can feel anything to insinuate ovulation, sometimes I feel something but it lasts for literally 4 seconds.

That's true. I can definitely tell I'm ovulating today. Did you happen to take clomid this cycle? I'm so cramps today and have pain at my ovaries so I'm pretty sure the egg(s) are being released as we speak. Or at least I hope that's what's happening. Now, will you be taking progesterone too?  My doctor recommend those as well, but haven't decided if I'm going to use those or not.

I'm sure you'll be fine!! So exciting, but a lot of 'work'!! :) We too will be 'dancing' for 4 days in a row, the doc didn't seem too concerned about that.

My doctor told me the exact same thing. The only issue is that we had sex the day before I took the shot and so now I'm worried that he'll be shooting blanks, lol. We have to have sex today so that will make it 4 days in a row. I'm hoping he has some quality sperm still.

Yup she told me the exact same thing. To baby dance for the next three nights starting yesterday. Only thing is we also had sex on Sunday so it will be a total of 4 days in a row. Hope he doesn't begin shooting blanks lol!!! Did you use clomid this cycle?

Did your doctor not tell you that? Like when to do it?

The next three nights. I'm guessing a surge will occur within the next 3 days.

Thank you. Sending good vibes your way too. By the way, when are you suppose to have sex once you've taken the shot? Also, when are you suppose to ovulate?

My husband gave me my trigger shot of ovidrel this evening. Barely a pinch. Wasn't bad at all. I just hope and pray it works. I had an ultrasound done today and it showed a follicle at 37 mm.

Shots are not the most pleasant things to go through, but it will be over quickly. Using the backside muscle is actually better than the arm. It's a bigger muscle and can handle the shot better. It's probably going to feel like a big pinch, and may burn for a few seconds as the medicine goes in a just after. However, as I said, it's over quickly. Just remind yourself what your goal is and holding your little baby when it's all done will make this all worth it.

Diving into a little ice cream or chocolate when your done helps too :)
