Wondering if I should press my doctor for a hysterectomy?

Hello, my name is heather.  I am wondering when and if I should press my doctor for hysterectomy?  I had always had very painful periods from the time I started getting my period at age 12.  When I was 20 I had my daughter and at 21 I had my son.  Soon after that I my periods started getting even worse than before. After going to see my ob/gyn for a few months I had a laperoscopy, hysteroscopy, and D/C.  I found out then that I had Endometriosis.  I tried the Lupron shots to no avail I was still in alot of pain.  My ob/gyn sent me to another doctor for a second opinoin he tried me on a number of different meds that did not work.  Then two days shy of a year since my first surgery I had another.  I got frusterated and quit seeing that doctor thinking I would be ok.  Of course that was a dumb idea.  I have started seeing my ob/gyn again and again she is sending me to the other guy to see if wants to do another surgery, send me for chroinic pain manngement, or give me a hysterectomy.  I am only 24 but my husband has had a vasectomy. Should I press for a hysterectomy?  I don't want to be on pain killers for the rest of my life just to dull the pain.  Any help would be great thank you

I am 25 and had a hysterectomy one year ago because of the same reasons, I thought that would fix everything, but now I have other problems caused by the surgery that i am trying to figure out and my endometriosis is now back.  This is a big decision, and I wish you all the best, I would just advise to research as much as possible.

This is something only you can decide for yourself, but here are somethings to consider.

1) You are very young and never know what you might want down the line (more children)
2) A vasectomy is reversable a hysterectomy is not.
3) Have you tried every option out there?????
