Clomid 4th and final round I will be starting fourth round at 250 mg I almost ovulated last time on 200 mg so I hope the extra 50 mg will do the trick. I want this more than anything I feel truely lucky yo already have a little girl but I need one more if this does not work I can not afford any other treatments I will have to look into becoming a Foster parent I need some prayers and lots of baby dust if any one has any to spare lol thanks for listening

Hi,

I did 4 rounds of clomid and successfully ovulated, but didn't get pregnant.

Just finished my first femara cycle (Day 15 today) and it looks like I may just be pregnant.

Femara is a bit more expensive than clomid (for me anyway), but much more cost effective than more invasive approaches.

i was on 200mg of clomid 3 days after taking the last pill u/s said follicle started to enlarge i was so happy it was working then 3 days later another u/s showed i didn't ovulate that same day i got my period for the first time in 19 months . i didn't think you were supposed to get your period during the time ovulation is supposed to take place i am confused  if anyone can explain i would appreciate the help

Ditto to what sungirl said. 250 is super high for Clomid. You also want to be careful about staying on for too long. My RE would not do more than 4 rounds of Clomid for me. Can have lots of negative side effects. I was going to start injections after my 4th attempt but ended up with cysts, a likely result of the Clomid. We went straight to IVF and had success on our first round. There are many options. Definitely talk to your RE.

250mg is a VERY strong dosage.  Clomid did not work for me and after 4 months (50 mg, then 100mg and 2 months at 150mg).  This past month I was put on letrozole (femara) and it worked.  On day 13 I had an egg measuring 17.5mm.
I would talk to your MD about other drug alternatives
