bleeding after successful ivf

Hi,
i need your help.  here is my story in short:

egg retrieved:  June 1, 2010
embryos transfered:  June 4, 2010 (3 total)
blood work testing positive for pregnancy:  June 16, 2010 (beta levels 83.2)

Then on June 17, 2010 Thursday i felt as thought i had left over Crinone gel stuck inside so i used a douche to flush it out and what came back out was what appeared to be old bits of crinone in the color of brownish or dark red.  On Friday June 18, 2010, i saw two little spots of light pink on my panty liner so i douched again to see if there was more blood up there and it came back with red blood.  I never did bleed after the ivf procedure at all.  Could this be a miscarrige?   I called the RE and they asked if the blood was coming out on its own and i said no but when i use the applicator of the Crinone gel, i see red blood.  So she said if i bleed heavy to come in on Sunday to check beta levels.  Pls share any similar experiences good or bad,  Thanks in advance to all.

Don't keep douching.  I was told not to, after transfer.

hello, firstly congratulations on your BFP! bleeding is always a worry but NOT always bad news. In my case it was unfortuantly. I had ivf in april for the first time and got the BFP 2 weeks later after egg transfer. A few days later started to spot then the blood was heavier like a lightish period. Anyway had my beta done again and was still rising s thought all was ok. Any way when had US 2 weeks later, nothing there, no sac etc had had whats called early miscarriage. monitor your bleeding and get your bloods done, if it stays at the "wipe stage" and not coming out in a flow, that sounds promising. Unfortunetly there is nothing anyone can do if you are miscarring, its horrible. We are all ready now to begin second and last cycle of ivf(so, so expensive)in july. best wishes to you, kep me posted lots love melissax
