donor egg or another ivf?

okay.... i need some advice.  i've had 3 failed ivf's, an ectopic pregnancy, a tube removed, and an overdose of iui's (not in that particular order).  i have almost enough health coverage for another ivf.  however, i have a better success rate with donor egg.  i was told about 30% success with ivf, vs. about 55% success rate with donor egg.  i am almost 36 years old.  i'm not crazy about the idea of having someone else's egg, but i'm also concerned with having yet another failed ivf.  ivf takes so much out of me, physically and emotionally.  my doctor suggests ivf, since he says i'm still "young."  however, i just want to be a mom.  we've been trying for about 4 years.  if i go down the donor egg path, i'll end up paying close to 20 grand.  any advice?????????

i don't think that either of you should be too concerned with age related effects in your mid 30s.  helen, enjoy being pregnant!

I was incredibly blessed and lucky to get my bfp on our first ivf try after years of ttc and infertility treatments.  As I am going through my first trimester, I can tell you that this journey would be sooooo less stressful if we were to use eggs of a 20 year old!  Your probability of pregnancy is higher but also probability of a miscarriage is lower.  Right now I am waiting for my scan to test for the risk of Down syndrome and again, with younger eggs I would not be stressing out as much.

Using DE is a very personal choice and both you and your dh should be comfortable with that.  I hope you make a decision that brings you lots of personal happiness.
