how do most people finance IVF?

Hi all,

My insurance covers only one.  If we are unsuccessful, it looks like we'll be paying out of pocket.  I see some women on this board with 6, 7 IVF's...I would easily do this as many times as it took to be successful...but wow...we'd wipe out our savings.  Have any of you done the integramed shared risk program?  Thoughts?

Thanks!!!  and keeping my fingers crossed for a frist time success!

andrea

I looked into financing and Capital One has IVF financing as well as some others. I got approved, but my dr doesn't take it :(  They each have a list of drs which participate with their plans.

Hi Andrea, I consider myself very fortunate that I have insurance that covers our cycles.  We did have to purchase secondary insurance when we capped our primary for IVF.  Most clinics will donate medicine, which can be half the cost of the cycle.  Our clinic did that for us when our primary cap on the meds ran out, but we still had money left for the procedure through insurance.  I am not familiar with the integramed shared risk program.  What is that?  I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you too!!!  You transferred back two great embies!!!!  I am praying that you are a first time success!!!  Good luck!  Susan
