Has anyone had a hsg done? Does it hurt? Did it help you afterwards to get pregnant? Thanks

I had an HSG done, Im not gonna lie it was uncomfortable, but tolerable, take some ibuprofen the morning of it cause (if your not allergic) it helps some.  I have heard that the following months post HSG you are more fertile.

Good luck!

HSG is very uncomfortable but not painful.  You will get results right away which is nice.  They did tell me it increases chances of getting pregnant.

I can tell you what my RE told me about the procedure, which is depending on how the doctor does it, it can be more or less painful. My RE tends to go slower injecting the dye which helps, and placement of the catheter can also play a role. If you have some blockages it can hurt a little more. Overall it was uncomfortable, I was expecting it to hurt as much as my normal af cramps(which are very bad) but it wasn't that bad.

We have a male factor so it didn't really help us to get pregnant.

The small cut your talking about is a laprascopy, that's what I had to have done a month after my hsg because they saw I had something going on.
