My DH had a vasectomy so we tried IVF/ICSI.  We were able to get pregnant and unfortunately I had a miscarriage.  We had no frozen embryos so the RE suggested another round of IVF.  We couldn't afford it so we decided to try IUI w/DS. I am currently in the 2WW.  IVF with ICSI is your best option.  It's costly.

I would say IUI or IVF ... Since these two ways help the sper
to directly meet wth the egg and not be inhibited due to low motility!

my husband has a variocele...and had corrective surgery but it didn't affect him.. he has a child from a previous relationship.. so I know it didn't  affect them having a child..but I don't know ,,it all depends on the person situation .. good luck

My husband's motility was pretty low. He didn't have the variocele vein issue, so no surgery was required. My doctor just told us our best option was IVF w/ ICSI because the chances of his sperm actually getting to my egg was next to nothing. But, like happynifer said, i don't think there's a standard as to what each lab considers "normal".

it depends.  if he has something like a variocele causing it, they may recommend surgery.
otherwise they usually recommend either IUI or IVF depending on how severely affected he is.
each lab has their own standards so there is not a universal number to go by.
good luck
