lab results?

I am a 37 year woman old trying to conceive my first child.  My husband reversed his vasectomy 15 months ago (this was considered a success, though we have yet to conceive [2 follow-up semen analysis' indicated low motility at 3% and 15%).  Meanwhile, I went through basic fertility testing (blood draws on day 3, two months in a row).  The results on test 1 were:  TSH 0.99, FSH 13.4, prolactin 11.8, and estradiol 49.9.  The results on test 2 were:  TSH 1.88, FSH 7.1, prolactin 24.4, and estradiol 46.4.  My MD said after the first test that the results indicated decreased ovarian reserve due to the FSH level.  After the second test, he said only that even though my FSH level was normal, it "still doesn't bode well for pregnancy".  That is all that I was told.  Any thoughts?  How "abnormal" (or normal) are my results?  Will IVF be an option for me?
Thanks for the help...

Dear Julie,

Thanks for the response.  I'm sorry to hear about your fertility troubles.  It is a real blow when the RN calls to share the news that you have limited (and likely crappy) eggs left, huh?.  Not a feeling I would wish on anyone.
Take care and good luck,
kp

Hi kp,

I too have been diagnosed with a diminished ovarian reserve. Although I'm only 30, my numbers are far worse than yours:) I do feel that your FSH and E2 levels are very normal and you have an excellent chance of success with IVF. Of course it also depends on your follicle count, how to respond to the meds (i'm guessing you'll respond well since your fsh and e2 levels are well within the normal range) and how good your RE is;)

My RE suggested doing the day 3 fsh and estradiol test atleast three times before you get a good result. Hope this helps.

Best,
Julie
