Yes. We are did a iui with sperm donor. It didn't work. So I took off two months. He moved . So now we are on our way to get a few donations. We can't do iui because he dosent live by my doctor. Have any of u got pregnant just inserting fresh swimmers into your vagina? How many days do u do the deed .or in our case samples before your positI've o?
We just did our first try with frozen, with an IUI done in clinic and me on no meds. The doc said if I'm not pregnant after 3 tries he'll do more tests and try medications. We didn't have anyone nearby who we felt would be a good known donor for us. On the day of IUI the lab thawed and prepared the sample and it had really good numbers, so we are hopeful...
My doc did say that you can get better success with "fresh" versus "frozen," is that why you are interested?
My sister used one. She used a guy they know who was previously married into our family, and they knew he didn't ever want kids. (The latter point was significant to them because other brothers-in-law and cousins' husbands presumably wanted to have kids some day with their wives, and they didn't want this to be an issue if they had a child from the guy and his wife, for some reason, couldn't.) They drew up a legal agreement; an interesting point my attorney told me at the time is that the only way for the child not to have a claim to the dad is if a sperm bank is used. In other words, the women could not sign away the child's right to the bio-dad or vice versa if he was a known donor, even though they could (and did) sign away any claim they (the women) might have to him. With his help, each woman was ultimately able to have a baby; my nephews are 22 and 20 years old now, both extraordinarily wonderful guys. :) Their dad stayed in their life, is often at family parties, has gone on trips with them, was active with the family as they grew up.
