I am starting my clomid today. cd3-7. Last month i never got a positive opk but my dr said according to my bloodwork i O. Has this happened to anyone before? The month before I got a surge on cd 17.
Hi everyone! I'm CD 9 today, and will probably start using OPKs today or tomorrow. I usually get a positive on CD 12 or 13. So, here we go again :-)
Wendy: Looks like we're in the same boat...I don't have any coverage either, not even for diagnostic test to find out if there's something wrong! I think it's totally insane that insurance won't cover that. But it is what it is, I guess. I can also totally relate to what you're saying about your sister being pregnant. Since my first miscarriage, it seems like everyone around me is getting pregnant...with no complications (including my sister and best friend). I too am happy for them, and my little nephew, who's now 1, is the cutest little boy ever! But I have to admit, I'm a little bit jealous too. I wish I could experience what they're experiencing. Hopefully we will soon!!!!
nevaeh: Did you get a positive OPK yet? When do you usually ovulate?
SSBD to everyone!
I have not seen an RE yet. My ins. does not cover any costs of infertility. Not even the blood work. I had made an appt. with one but cancelled it b/c of the $$$. I am getting frustrated b/c my obgyn has not done any tests other than the progesterone. I am like you, and feel like without knowing what is wrong i am just wasting my $. Between ov kits, preg test, clomid, and 21cd progesterone ($200 each month). My dr won't really tell me what her plan is for the coming months. It is just a month to month decision and that drives me crazy. As an added bonus my sister (who just got married and was not ttc) just told me she is pregnant. Threee of my close friends are also preggo. I truely am happy for them, but it reminds me of what i want so bad and cant get.

hi ladies. I'm a little ahead of you I'm on cd13 and just waiting for a positive OPK to get my IUI scheduled. I have been on 5 cycles of clomid and decided to take this month off and do it without any meds. I think you're only supposed to be on clomid for about 6 cycles? Anyways, if this "natural" IUI doesn't work I'm also headed to the injectibles.
Yes and no :-) I did actually see an RE last year and did four unmedicated IUIs. Didn;t get pregnant and stopped going after our insurance changed and I no longer had coverage for fertility-related costs. Then got pregnant on my own a few months later, which ended in a second miscarriage in September of last year. I just went back to see her last week to see if I can have some more tests done, but she said no need and that she would suggest injectables and IUI or IVF at this point. So, my DH and I decided to give it a few more months before making that decision, since we have gotten pregnant on our own twice. Plus, even if I do spend thousands of dollars out of pocket for an IVF, there's only about 50% chance it will work...and what if I have another miscarriage? I have an appointement with my regular obgyn on the 11th, so I'm going to ask him for a second opinion. I would feel more comfortable doing injectibles and IUI or IVF if I had some more tests done first. Sooooo, until then we'll just keep trying the natural way :-)
How about you? Are you seeing a specialist?
