miscarriage

Ive just been told I'm having a miscarriage, it as took me 7 years to get pregnant and the doctors gave me a 2 percent chance of ever getting pregnant naturally, yet I beat those odds. I've got crohns disease and pcos. how many periods till I can start trying gain? and did having a internal scan cause my miscarriage? I had bleeding on the sunday when the doctor checked my womb n it was still closed, then had the internal scan on the tuesday, then on the Wednesday I started bleeding. was it the scan?

Most doctors say at least one period. We tried anyway and I ended up getting an infection. You have to give your cervix time to heal.

The scan won't cause a M/C. Often when you are seeing a fertility specialist in the early pregnancy period, you have numerous scans. I have been told to wait one cycle, ie. until after you get your next period to try again. Previous advice from an OB (that I honestly did not have much trust in) wanted me to wait 3 months. Be sure to ask you doctor what their opinion is.

I am so sorry for your loss.  The scan should not have affected the pregnancy.  Check with the doctor on when you can start trying again.

Good luck! :)

They wouldn't do scans if they were unsafe. Up to 50% of all pregnancies end in miscarriage.  Your Dr would know How long you should wait before trying to conceive again.
