I'm not trying to discourage or depress you or make you feel any more disappointed than what you already are. Believe me when I say that I understand. But I don't really think that there is too much that you can do without first just getting the test results back and finding out what's going on. If you've been trying for over three years and it hasn't happened yet then I truly do believe the chances of it happening on it's own, so to speak, are slim to none. That's not to say that it couldn't happen but I just don't think that there's much of a chance. There is just so much that can go wrong with our bodies that it's impossible to know what's going on without getting those test results. Treatment costs vary greatly depending on your insurance coverage and what part of the country (or which country you are in). I know just for one IUI procedure the cost was about $250. That's not including my meds. and almost all of my monitoring was covered by my insurance otherwise it would have been much, much more expensive. I was told by my nurse that IVF will cost around $7,000 but I've chatted on this site with others who have paid between $10,000 and $15,000 per IVF cycle so the costs really do vary greatly. I know that the waiting is torture, pure and simple, there's no other way to describe it and I know how badly you are hurting right now but until you can meet with your doctor and discuss the costs with him/her and/or your insurance carrier then the only thing I can even begin to think of to suggest that might at least help a little is to find a hobby, find something else to do. I know you're probably thinking "yeah right" but really until the doctors know what's going on in your body there's not really anything that can be done. Do you celebrate Christmas? Maybe you could start a holiday project or re-paint your house? Anything that you would enjoy and that would take your mind off of the pain. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers, good luck!
