repeated miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy

Hello.  My husband and I have been trying to conceive.  The first time around I was 9 weeks pregnant and had a miscarriage.  A few months later I became pregnant again and discovered it was an ectopic pregnancy.  I'm battling with the emotion of it all.  I feel my doctors are keeping close watch on me however I really wish I could get some more concrete answers as to what might be causing the problems.  Its very frustrating to repeatedly go through and takes an emotional toll on my husband and I.  We are scheduled to see a reproductive endochrinologist very soon.  I am lacking knowledge about what kind of tests can be done to see where the problem lies.  I have had all of the tests for lupus, hepatits, blood clotting, etc and all the tests came out normal.  Please help.  Any advice would be appreciated.  Thank you so much.

hi,
I am very sorry for your loss. I too had 3 miscarriages in the past. Recent one at 8weeks. I wanted an answer as to why it is happening and so my doc sent the fetal tissue for pathology and what was found was it was a triploid pregnancy means it has 69 chromosomes instead of 46.
Since I already had 3 in a row, I was asked to see an RE. I got all the tests done and everything came back normal. so hopefully for you also it will be one of those things that happen once a while. Dont get depressed. I can understand your emotions as I went through the same ..
you can get lot of support from this forum. stay positive and lets fight this thing together with more strength..

I am sorry for your losses. I have had 3 myself. When I lost #1 at 12wks, they tested the fetus and it all came back normal. The cause was a torn placenta. The other 2 were too early of losses and no testing could be done. Has your dr talked about testing the tissue to see if it is genetic?

Unfortunately, they never give you the reason of why it is happening..I had 1 m/c, and all they said was that the baby didn't stick because the "code" was wrong...
but it doesn't increase your chances to have another m/c again.....so Im sure they going to tell you : Keep trying..that's what we all been doing..
Im very sorry, I remember when I found out that I have m/c, I had the worst depression ever.......

I don't really have advice for you.  I just want to say how sorry I am.  I also had an ectopic pregnancy and there was no reason the doctors could give me for it.  It seems to have been just one of those things.  You will hopefully find some answers on medhelp.  You will definitely find a good support network here to help you through the ups and downs of your TTC battle.  We all know that husbands can only listen to so much.

One little piece of advice, the doctors may never be able to give you a concrete answer so try not to dwell on the whys of it all.  It will drive you crazy.

Good luck.
