signs after IUI

Hello I am new to this site and  dont understand alot of the initials but will try to learn them.  This was my second IUI the first one the nurse did cause the doctor had to leave early that day and this one the doctor did, the first on failed.  But this time there were a couple of things different so I thought I would ask you all.  Sorry to be blunt but I had a brownish mucousy discharge 1 day qand 2 days after this IUI and have had short sharp cramping down low in my abdomen almost where I assume my ovaries are at? Just curious any advise or thoughts.

I hope you get your BFP soon :-) Oklahoma to Texas is a far drive! Be sure not to test too soon as you don't want to get a false positive (will happen if you have leftover trigger in your system) - generally the trigger is out by day 12.

DH and I have one son - he turned 2 in December. We concieved him through IUI but no meds. We have been trying since May 2007 for our second child (naturally) and no luck. In September 2007 we went back to our RE and I started Clomid and IUI's/trigger shots. I finally got a + test in April 2008, but I had an early m/c...So we are still trying! We took a couple of months off at the end of 2008 so I could lose some weight and concentrate on taking my State Boards test. I have PCOS and endometriosis, and DH has somewhat of a low count/motility. But we got p/g once, so sometime we should be able to have another healthy child!

Hopefully 2009 will bring both of us some luck!!

Here is my whole story, I have been married for 17 years.  I started tracking my temp and cycles approx 8 or 9 months ago.  We went down for the first visit 4 months ago and they said my husbands sperm was clumping so they could not even do it so they put him on antibiotics and then tried again the next month.  We have been driving to Houston Texas from Oklahoma doing IUI with gender selection, we have done two cycles and the first did not work.  We would love either but would like to increase our chances of having a girl we have three boys at home and love them dearly but would like to try for one more child and think also that it would be neat to have a girl (we have an older daughter-from a previous marriage)  Yes I have been on Clomid for 4 months and did a trigger shot the same day as the first IUI this time I did the IUI on day 14(with hcg trigger? shot) and then IUI again on the next day -15 of my cycle.  But I am also an older woman so that counts very hard against the odds.  How many times have u tried and do u have any other children?  Where do u go to the doctors?

You're welcome! Testing on the 17th should give you a reliable result - did you have a trigger shot?
The tww is absolutely horrible - I'm 7DPO today, so I'm getting there lol...I feel like we've been doing this forever..my anxiety this cycle isn't too bad. Did you take clomid or anything of the sort? if you don't mind my asking, how long have you been trying?

Good luck!

It's pretty normal for the disharge and cramping - you're follies probably ruptured (ovulating - O'ing) and you now have a good cyst there - which is also good - it means you ovulated!

O - Ovulating
BFP - Big Fat Positive
BFN - Big Fat Negative
DH - Dear Husband
BD - Baby dancing (sex)
HPT - Home p/g test
OPK - Ovulation Predictor Kit

There is a tab on the top right hand side of the page and click on health pages. Look for the one that says Fertility and General Posting acronyms... That should help a lot!!!

Good Luck - and you are now in your tww...
