Elivil to treat fibro

I finally got an answer went to see my PCP and he told me that alot of doctors
didin't believe fibro was real but then again he said i have all the symptoms and gave me Elivil
to try and help me sleep considering i'm up every hour.
I explained to him that this all started slowly and it's gotten to the point where i hurt soooo bad the pain meds dont help and i'm so tired all the time i can't even go up and down the stairs without getting so out of breath even my fingers hurt my shoulders feel like there are weights on them .
I just don't know anymore this is so scary i've been felling really DOWN.
I now have to see a therapist my doc says fibro can be from depression. I'm just so confused and lately that has been happening alot on top of forgetting everything . All i know is that i don't feel myself i feel so sick all the time i'm not crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!       Thank you.

To my understanding Elavil is also called Amitriptyline it's an anti deppresent that is also used to treat pain.

I take 20 mg Elavil at bedtime for fibromyalgia.  I sleep great through the night!  I think its helping some w/ the neuropathic pain as well.

Try joining a fibro or cfs support group

Never though of it don't think i have the symptoms of Lyme disease.
But thank's  will look into it.

I see you live in CT.  Is it possible you could have lyme disease?  Lyme is one cause of fibro.
