If the instance included severe head pain, nausea and vomiting, sensitivity to lights and sounds...then i'd be more inclined to think it's a migraine. When mine took place I was sitting down and it just happened out of the blue. I had no forewarning or pain whatsoever. If you have migraines, you know that's what it is as there's nothing else like it. The pain is excruciating.
The hernia could be causing some of the symptoms you are having. Please keep a check on that routinely to insure it's not getting worse. :-)
Had upper GI done ,,they found out i have a haital hernia pertruding though my lung..and i have on and off acid reflux...but one of my doctors beleive it has to do with age : ( or my smoking ..but i have this spasms even if im not smoking....and when the nurse called she told me the blindness must of been a intense migraine which i never had one of these until this disease hit me......because one of my sisters friends who are in their 50's just got diagnosed with this and she went blind they had to take her to the hospital they told her it was a migraine..
kimmie069 - have you had an upper GI done? That might be something to consider as your throat symptoms may be gastric in nature. Also, I have had an experience with blindness once, and not again. If your MRI was clean that is the best news to hear. If it happens again, they can always do another MRI at that time. Maybe the medication they will allow you to have will work. You won't know until you try it. I hope that it does.
ginak - you can still go to a specialist, just not one who isn't participating within your ins. network. You can contact them to find out who is on their listing and go to them.
I hope everything works out for you both. Sometimes things seem to work against us, but continue with your efforts and hopefully they will pay off in the long run. Take care.
I really dont know how my insurance company can tell me that at this time it is not medically neccessity...i told them come to my house and experience what i go thugh everyday morning to night then tell me its not a medical nessesity i have pain 24/7 spring though winter..i like to turn them down when they need something to make them feel better : )
Kimmie,
I feel you on that. I just got off the phone with my insurance company and was told that I had no out of network benefits whatsoever. I want to go to a specialist and was told that they would not even consider paying for anything.....WHAT A WASTE!
