Rheumy said I have fibro, but did not check the tender points, so I have decided to get a second opinion. Some docs seem to come to the fibro conclusion just because they have come to a roadblock they aren't willing to overcome..... So, back to square one!
Like Phtartist above, fatigue is low on my list of symptoms. I also do not have the brain fog, but definately feel that I have fibromyalgia after many years with all over body pain as well as the many other diseases that typically accompany fibromyalgia due to the central nervous system being on high alert.
And according to the lead researcher, Dr. Clawson at the University of Michigan, he was emphatic that fibromyalgia is NOT greater in women. He has gotten a large grant from the Dept of Defense because a large number of men coming back from the wars have great stress and that seems to have triggered the fibromyalgia in many of them--the reason for the large grant to study it.
That seems like a possible cause in me and other women I know who were pushing themselves past the limit for years and I think that may have led to my fibromyalgia. But who knows.
Lymes and similar infectious conditions can be transmitted by bodily fluids ANYWHERE! Do not buy into the medical "denial" as they only serve their interests and NOT yours.
For vitamin D, supplement with emulsified sublingual D3 for efficient absorption and assimilation.
Cut down on carbs drastically as they feed the muscle toxins in your body.
Test for Tartaric acid levels-urine test- This is usually the toxin that shows up.
Malic acid supplementation will remedy this and restore the Kreps cycle.
Test for food intolerance and allergies. Dr. Coca's Pulse test is a good way to self-test. It's a free download. The foods you like the most are usually the ones causing problems.
And finally, be careful with "medical bias", often overlooking the inter-connectiveness of our bodies systems and parts.
You may be able to avoid
the medical merry-go -round if you are knowledgeable and proactive.
Blessings

What did your Rheumy say?
I already suffer from migraines, so I have headaches.... I don't technically have brain fog. I do, in a way, but I don't thin it's to an extreme..... If I have lymes diseaes, that would be truly surprising, because I live in a beach area, and I stay away from "outdoorsy" type places. I don't have any pets..... I don't know. I have an appt with my rheum. today, so I'll see what he has to say.
Ive had Fibromyalgia for over 12 years. Periodically I have fatigue but it is low on my list of symptoms. I have vit. D deficiency and take 2000 mg a day but my muscles still pain. I only started with joint pain in the last 2 years. They did find I have had Lymes disease for a long time, hence the joint pain.
Do you have brain fog, speech problems, headache etc? They say these are Lymes too but these went away after I was treated for Lymes.
Very interesting. I think it's so so crazy that I have all this pain due to Vit D def, but, apparently it's that important. Thank you for that! I don't want to have fibromyalgia, naturally, but it was like "There's got to be more to this than a Vit def!" Guess we shall see what the doc has to say in a few days when I return!
One study found 93% with unexplained bone and muscle pain were deficient in vitamin D. Vitamin D council recommend vitamin D levels to be between 50 - 80ng/mL or 125 - 200nmol/L year round.
Excerpt from Sage Medical Laboratory - "Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome":
"Identifying fibromyalgia without a diagnosis of chronic fatigue would mean the patient probably does not have fibromyalgia. Now if it is fibromyalgia, it is a very debilitating disorder.
Fibromyalgia, an associated disease of chronic fatigue, is a commonly encountered disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain, stiffness, paresthesia, nonrestorative sleep, and easy fatigability along with multiple tender points that are widely and symmetrically distributed. Fibromyalgia affects predominantly women."
