Hi Sara.
No apology was necessary, but apology accepted.
I feel like we're 2 old friends who had an argument about something
not so significant and in the end they (we) worked out the differences,
shook hands and hugged!
Wish you well.
Niko
No, I never said that you thought that the whole medical field was washed up. I only referred to your one comment on inflammation. But I am sorry for my comment being too critical. I do appreciate all your time and effort in responding to me.
All good to you as well and thanks,
Sara
Hi Sara!
You have implied that I have total disregard to the medical profession.
Your take on this is a stretch.
The medical field is definitely NOT all washed up! There are considerable faults and gaps with considerable room for improvement, however, this does not reduce the medical field to "all washed up" status! There have been amazing medical breakthroughs in recent years, that have improved the quality of life for millions and it would be totally disrespectful for anyone, not to acknowledge this. All the successful surgical procedures, trauma and emergency care, diagnostics, research, medications... All this cannot be ignored.
From your post:
"Fibromyalgia does not cause any inflammation and I don't have any inflammation."
I merely responded to that statement: "If your neuro or rheumie have ruled out the presence and effects of inflammation, you may be given incorrect information".
And this is a hypothesis, leaving the only other possibility that you got this information from somewhere else.
It does not change the fact that inflammation precedes disease.
For an easy read to inform yourself better on Inflammation and all the damaging effects on the body do a search for :
"Arizona Center for Advanced Medicine + Inflammation".
Excerpt:
"Chronic inflammation falls below the threshold of perceived pain. You don't think you feel sick, but a fire is quietly smoldering within you, upsetting the delicate balance among all of the major systems: endocrine, central nervous, digestive, and cardiovascular/respiratory. In a healthy body, these systems communicate with each another. With chronic inflammation, that communication becomes distorted."
This may also help you put a clearer perspective in regards to your conditions.
So please look at the bigger picture, don't get too caught up with certain
words in my post that may give you the wrong idea, I truly wish you
good health and wellness, and I'm very glad to hear that you are pleased with your doctors and your progress.
All good.
Niko
Niko,
It may not be obvious but the medical profession has saved me from being very disabled with my fibromyalgia.
And more importantly, the medical profession has offered me many treatments which have changed a severe 24/7 migraine condition caused by a major stroke (very hard to treat), so that it's now mild most days. So I am not so ready to discount their analyses of me.
But I certainly understand others wanting to who have not been helped with their illnesses from the medical profession.
Still, glad that you have found such a wonderful life with your meditation. Really I am.
Sara
Niko,
You're now beyond me saying that the medical field is all washed up saying that "If your neuro or rheumie have ruled out the presence and effects of inflammation, you may be given incorrect information. ALL disease starts with inflammation!!!"
But that's okay.
Sara
Sara,
While Inflammatory mediators are at very low or undetectable levels within the central nervous system healthy tissues, pro-inflammatory factors and mediators, get expressed and activated easily, in reaction to injury, infection and degenerative processes in the CNS.
Expression of IL-1, TNFα, IL-1ra and IL-6 and and CNS inflammation are linked to events following this, where seizures and epilepsy may develop.
If your neuro or rheumie have ruled out the presence and effects of inflammation, you may be given incorrect information.
ALL disease starts with inflammation!!!
Of course Fibro cannot cause inflammation, as it is merely a syndrome of
of symptoms. As a matter of fact Fibro does not and cannot cause anything by virtue of medical definition.
So this is good news. You are able to do a lot of things for your condition,
by taking steps to reduce CNS and general inflammation processes.
(Inflammation does not have a particular feel to it, so we all may have it and not experience anything in particular other than the symptoms of the condition we are DXed with.)
You are able to purchase a CD for meditation with binaural beats.
just do a search.
Thanks for your further info. Due to being in a rural area that does not have cable, the best I can get is wireless internet which costs about $60/month but does not allow any video because it is too slow.
Fibromyalgia does not cause any inflammation and I don't have any inflammation. It is the central nervous system's over reaction to stimuli.
I do put on an anti-inflammation gel (by prescription) for my 24/7 migraines which usually calms them down very well. As to the tea, I take Trazodone and Klonopin at night to treat fibromyalgia and a seizure condition. Both of them sedate me. Plus every night I play a meditation tape that helps me to go to sleep.
But that's not the same as the level of meditation that you are talking about.
Thanks again.
Sara
Hi Sara.
Meditation has been such a wonderful tool for me.
Practised over time it does help create dramatic changes in ones life.
I personally found that for easy tasks, such as falling asleep when experiencing discomfort and pain, it worked-to my amazement- very well!
And for more difficult tasks, it would just take some more time.
Now I must admit that I had been using "binaural beats" to help bring my
brain wave down to an "Alpha" state (7-13 Hz, good for meditation and relaxation) or a "Theta" state (4-7 Hz, good for lucid dreaming and hypnosis). if you are interested in this you can search YouTube for such a video clip, or you can go to the"brain wave generator" website (free for a trial period, but you can still get it for free afterwards-if you cannot find out how,
let me know. it allows you to add background sounds to the binaural beats
you select for the particular purpose, i.e. meditation for better sleep.
There are many options, so just take your time to explore this.
Over the years, I have managed through meditation, to lower my BP,
increase metabolism ( in conjunction with advanced EFT application)
eliminate jet lag, get answers for complex issues, increase my Awareness
dramatically, improve my health in different ways, learn faster, maintain
a very sharp mental edge, decrease my "real" age and the list goes on!!!
Should you want to try meditation, please take your time, as the results may not be experienced immediately. Stick with it until you have an Aha!
moment and you will never look back! This experience will probably change you forever. Even if it takes you a few weeks, it is definitely worth it.
In my sessions with clients, I do teach self-Hypnosis and Meditation,
as I find that when I give them this tool to use on their own, they get empowered, and they are in charge of this amazing process that allows them to do ANYTHING in their lives.
Let me know if you need a script for meditation for wellness,
that I have prepared. I can include it in a pm next time.
Oh, another thing that I have used and recommended to others,
is do a transdermal Magnesium Oil treatment, followed by a nice warm shower, and then a cup of valerian root tea, before bedtime.
This should help you sleep better!
Coconut oil consumption in place of all other cooking oils will help reduce inflammation, and being anti-microbial, anti-viral, anti-parasitic and anti-fungal, it will help with a lot of other annoying issues! I use extra virgin
and I also do each morning "Oil Pulling" with it. Just do a search for it,
at the coconut research center website.
Take care,
Niko
Niko,
Thanks for your information. I'm interested to understand it better. Did the meditation help your pain overall when you weren't even meditating? Or did you meditate at night to relieve the discomfort at the same time?
Sara
Hi Sarah.
No you are not alone.
I have been there many many moons ago! less the meds, as I refused to take anything for pain. It did me good though as this forced me to really learn meditation, study Holistic Health ,Energy Medicine, Hypnotherapy and Spiritual Psychotherapy over the years.
What a nice feeling to be able to advise on unresolved health matters and facilitate healing for the very same people -health professionals- who told me then that either it was in my head or I have to live with my undiagnosed condition for ever.
Do a YouTube search for a meditation video clip that you like.
Preferably learn to meditate.
If you have access to and can afford the services of a good Hypnotherapist,I encourage you to consider having a consultation,
to determine if this is something you are willing to pursue.
I normally book a minimum of 5 sessions (with the 6th free) for anything serious like fibro. Ideally 12 sessions spread over 3-4 months with a booster session once or twice annually afterwards.
Best investment in your health to my opinion. I incorporate EFT, Hypnotherapy, Past and future life exploration, energy medicine
and spiritual psychotherapy , holistic health elements, thus dealing with ALL aspects of disease, one at a time. And totally non-invasive!
You may want to go back to the beginning of April to a thread titled
"Iwill do this" , you will find useful suggestions.
Let me know if you need more details.
Wish you well.
Niko
