What are the options?

I was wondering what are the options for pain meds that I have for fibromyalgia?

I'm getting some wonderful relief with Lyrica.  My doctor started me at a low dose (75 mg once a day) and based on how I feel (you can tell when the dose stops working) I add another does.  I am now taking 225 mg a day.  The Lyrica plus Remeron for depression allows me to get good sleep too.  I also take 2000 mg fish oil caplets, C0Q10, Selenium, magnesium, calcium, multi vitamin, vitamin C and D3 and plan on trying D-Ribose powder after my surgery next week.  Many people have had a huge increase in their energy levels with it.

Actually there is no weight gain!  That is one of the benefits of this medication b/c it is like cymbalta (sp?).  For me there were some side effects, but they subsided after a week or so.  I got a lot of hot flashes, but they are gone now.

My doctor just started to prescribe Savella but I have yet to take it due to mixing with other medications.  Any weight gain, side effects that I need to look out for when starting it?

Hi,

I have been taking Savella twice a day and it has made improvement.  I am also a new medication called Nucynta at night before bedtime.  These have definitely helped.

Good luck!
