Yes, I also have Fibro. Pain is NOT just above waist. It is all over and can change from one day to the next, even during a day. Sorry that you are going thru all this anxiety. I also see a Psychiatrist for the anxiety/panic that has been caused by this illness. It helps to know you are NOT crazy. I take Xanax to help me sleep and occassionally to help w/anxiety attacks. Once all the other stuff has been ruled out, you should have some peace of mind. Try to think positively. Try deep breathing, meditation, etc. I've found that it does help somewhat when in a lot of pain.
You're welcome. Please come back and give us an update on your testing and let us know how you are doing. Nice meeting you!
tests came back negative for lyme and lupus ..im guessing thats why he is ordering this 3 tests to maybe rule out ms..thx alot e1
Hi I was diagnosed with FMS, but my symptoms are not as severe as what you are describing. Have they tested you for Lupus. I don't know all of the symptoms for lupus and they've probably already tested you for that. I do know that FMS hurts all over. Sometimes I feel like my entire body is in pain, other times my hip and upper thigh feels as if it is on fire (my dr. said that I may have bursitis-probably misspelled that-along with FMS. It really ***** when you feel no one understands. I often feel like my hubby thinks I'm crazy, and he may be right I wonder about it some days myself(lol)
Sorry I can't be much help. I hope you find some relief SOON!
Sorry you are having so many health probs. right now. Whomever told you that fibro was from the waist up was incorrect. Fibro is all over. Many of the symptoms you describe can be those associated with fibromyalgia. You will feel better once the testing is completed and you have ruled out the other possibilities. These are simply tests they are performing in order to insure there isn't something else causing your symptoms. You indicated you had the MRI on your head and they didn't say it was indicative of MS.
Please read some of the health articles on the right sideboard, or google fibromyalgia so that you will become aware of the many symptoms that come with this dx.
Hope you feel better soon and take care.
Have you seen a neurologist? If not I would request a referral if you need to. It looks like the important tests have been ordered. I have had many or most of your symptoms but all my tests have come back normal...spinal tap, MRI's, VEP's etc....I was sure I had MS but I didn't. Your symptoms don't sound like fibro only to me. In my case, it is probably lyme disease causing my problems. I improved a lot from antibiotic treatment.
