Your symptoms do not sound like fibro. I had a herniated disk in my neck which caused those type of symptoms. The MRI may give you some answers.
This doesn't sound like Fibromyalgia at all. I could be wrong, but I don't think most people would say that they have shooting pains. Fibro is a lingering, severe, aching type of pain that lasts. If a person, for instance, comes up to you and grabs your upper arms and squeezes them, not only would that cause you pain, but that pain could last for several minutes after they let go of your arms. The researchers do know that people who have Fibro, do not hit the level of sleep that is needed for the muscles to repair themselves; it is during sleep that that process takes place. This is a chronic problem that people say gets worse over time, it certainly has in me. Have the MRI done; this sounds like you have done something to yourself to cause an injury.
