Bless you for being so understanding of your wife's condition!
That will be such an encouragement for her and help her emotionally, more than you will ever know.
I wish we were all as fortunate to have mates that understood our pain and/or cared to understand our pain!
Kudos to you for trying to learn all that you can to help her.
Has her doctor put her on any meds? I am getting some relief with Lyrica and remeron for depression. It can take a while for the right mix of meds for her to be worked out. She will have periods of increased pain combined with periods of less. I have done some reading where some people are getting relief with a gluten free or even a vegan or dairy free diet (try reading the Lupus Recovery diet - has good case studies for those with fibromyalgia as well). It is important that she do some light exercise but never to the point of exhaustian and if her pain get higher take it easy. It took me a while to learn this. I get on my eliptical daily and started with just 5 minutes at a time. I actually find that the 5 minutes can help to relieve my pain. Walking or swimming are very good. She is so lucky to have an understanding partner.
Fibromyalgia pain can be excrutiating! I lived with it for 12 years, then went gluten free. I immediately noticed a huge difference. It took a few months, but now I am completely pain free! I hope you find answers from people that will help your wife!!
