Hi and welcome to the GERD forum.
As the above posted mentioned it is best to see a GI Dr and have them RX a med for you...avoiding certain foods will help...spicy, greasy and acidic foods...alcohol, caffeine, and carbonation.....
Eating the smaller meals is also a help but you will eat 4 to 6 of them....not just 3.....this helps use up the excess acids to break down the food...and help with those constant hunger pangs...
When someone has throat pain and no heartburn it can be LPR which is also known as Silent reflux since not everyone experiences heartburn.
Also look into antihistamines as some of us produce more histamines then we should and this too can lead to reflux and throat issues as we tend to have Post Nasal Drip.....many of the H2 blockers are blocking histamine...so for those of us that reg meds no longer help, this could be something to look into....I used to take prilosec as I too had symptoms that would come and go...and the last time I had a flare the prilosec no longer helped...I am now using antihistamines and a H2 Blocker and both have been able to keep my symptoms in check....so talk with your Dr...and you may also want to have a PH test to see if your acid levels are high or too low as the symptoms can be the same...so meds to reduce acid levels for someone with low levels will make someone feel worse....
Talk with your Dr and let us know how you are doing and what you find out.
