Can Gerd take away your appetite

Is loss of appetite a common symptom of GERD.  I have recently been put on Lansoprazole by my GP as a first step towards diagnosis of possible GERD (all my simptoms fit); however, it is not the medication that is causing my loss of appetite because this is one of the first things I noticed a few weeks ago, along with the other symptoms.  It is unusual for me to lose my appetite.  I am feeling hungry later on in the afternoon but am eating nowhere near what I used to.  This has been the norm for a few weeks now.

I quite often feel nauseous and this is how I was for years before my symptoms worsened. Many times I wonder if I am hungry and that is why I feel nauseous so I will eat something, but I still feel the same. So if you feel ill with loss if appetite that makes complete sense.

DO u have nausea with ur GERD?...that could be part of ur issue....I would suggest u talk to ur Dr about this, especially if u r losing weight as a result...if u r at a health weight and maintain that...that should not be too much of an issue.

Good luck and do keep us posted
