Hi there,

I had a Nissen Fundo in 2012 and your symptoms does not sound normal to me.

The vagus nerve could be irritated and that is why you are having lots of hiccup episodes.  If there is still a lot of swelling, this should go away soon.  The pooling of saliva does not sound good.

Just remember to follow the very strict diet as this is very important to ensure a successful operation.

You should have a six week follow up appointment with your Surgeon and if any of yours symptoms are persisting, your Doctor should know about it.

All the best with your recovery.

@ShakirDoha- Hi and welcome to the GERD forum.

I have not had this procedure but would advise you call your Dr to see if this is a typical issue post op.....and I will see if I can get a member here I know to have had this procedure to comment. Good luck and do keep us posted on your progress.
