I've had gerd for over 15 years and the affedt it has had on my  life has been life changing:  So, if you've just learned you have it....make sure you do the right things now.....by that I mean....change your diet....No coffee, soda, tomatoes, pizza, cigarettes, alcohol, spicy wings, or spicy anything for that matter....no fried foods, no mcdonald's take-out!....no cranberry juice, no orange juice....especially not orange juice....no water.  Sounds crazy, but If I dring water when "flared up" water does not work.....

Good luck!

Boognell gives good advice, those drug information messages are like warnings associated with ladder instructions, meant to protect themselves.  Ask the pharmacist.
I've taken both lisinopril and Metoprolol.  I think they can cause stomach upset, but that isn't in my definition GERD.  I'd make sure to take those drugs with food.

Read the inside pamphlet about the drugs, also ask your pharmacist. I don't think  (the two drugs) cause GERD, though. Good luck! PS--Just ask your pharmacist and forget the pamphlet info. They tell you the drug has every side effect ever heard of to protect themselves! lol
