Nissen Fundo--A Decade Later

Hello There,

About 10 years ago, I underwent thr Nissen Fundo procedure for severe GERD. It has worked very well until now. My symptoms have recurred and they are worse than before I had the Nissen. While waiting for my PCM appointment date, I am curious if there is generally a time period that the surgery is effective for. I also have pretty significant pain (on and off) in what feels like the surgery area; it kind of feels like the pain in the same post-surgical area. Has anyone experienced the same problem post-Nissen?

Thank-You!

Rick

Hi Rick,

Sorry u r again experincing these symptoms again, but 10 yrs sounds like a good amount of time...other have posted that their Nissen slipped much ealier than that...not having had this procedure I can not add much more.

However, if it has indeed slipped, I would think having it redone would be beneficial to u.'

Good Luck
