barretts oesophagus nexium.

Hi there,
my friend is suffering from Barretts.
she has been given the drug nexium, and esomeprazole
However since taking these drugs she is now in constant pain with her joints.
She is having trouble sleeping and is crying with the pain.
Should these drugs have this effect.
Have you heard of it before.
Hope you will be able to reply.
kind regards.

Hi...yes it is possible...only way to know for sure it is the meds , ur friend will have to stop the meds and see if the joint pain eases.

How long is ur friend on the meds?.....did she contact her dr regarding this? or pharamacist...when a side effect is experienced it is best to stop the meds and contact the dr right away.

It is also possible that there is something else going on, so her dr should be involved.

Not everyone will have this issue, and not all will get benefits from these meds.....we all need to experiment to find what works best....unfortunately it does not work bcuz the dr gave a an RX,,,,I know as this has happened to me where e gerd med stopped working and I needed to try a different med.

I did some reading after reading about ur friend and joint pain from the meds is a possible  side effect.

Hope this is helpful
