help with GERD

Hi everyone. will appreciate some info!!!

i was diagnosed with gerd and erosive gastritis almost 2 years ago. was free of meds since about 1 year. anyhow it seems it has come back with a vengeance!!! my esophagus hurts i wake up with mouth full of strange saliva i always have phlegm in my throat and I am on Protonix 1 x day !!!

i sleep with elevated bed, i eat 2 meals a day and very light at that and wait 3 yrs before i go to bed.

anyhow my question is this if anyone knows, lately that my gerd is worse when i do my treadmill in the morning i get pains like you've scratched me in the back and in the front . naturally i am worried it could be my hurt but when it happens my heart rate is fine i don't feel lightheaded i feel fine and it goes away even if i don't stop my exercise.

any thoughts/advice.

i am 36fem hashimoto thyroiditis/had my annual heart check up last month - doc said i can exercise as usual she did an ekg and an echocardiogram.

my resting heart is in the 50's when wake up in the morning and when i go to bed at night.

tks

Just another juggestion, take the Protonix about 1/2 hour prior to eating your largest meal of the day as suggested by the manufacturer of the drug.  If you take it after eating or between meals, it simply won't be affective.  I'm not a health professional, but I'm betting the best time to take it would be in the evening 1/2 to 1 hour prior to eating, and after eating your final meal of the day, don't snack at all.
Hope this helps, keep us informed.

U may want to break that into 4 small meals as just eating 2 may be part of ur issue....plus u may not be getting what u need, when we starve ourselves we can develop GERD symptoms as well or ne change in our diet....or in weight gain or loss u will see a change in these symptoms.

Is ur Dr working  with u on this diet? As those calories sound too low.

Hi and welcome to the GERD forum.

May I ask y  u r only eating 2 x's a day? with Gerd u should each more meals , but smaller meals to help the digestion, u may be making it worse by ur schedule....4 to 5 small meals a day is better then 2 when most eat 3....

Talk to ur Dr about this schedule or a dietitian.
