Surgery? Need an answer ASAP!

This monday my sister can't take the abdominal pain she was facing so she decided to get her examined and the doctor suggested for admittance. Later we found out that she had internal amoeba, after a day the pain lessened but the doctor requested for further laboratory and CT scan, then they found out that her gallbladder had inflamed and has lymph nodes. They immediately decided for gallbladder removal and didn't further explain to us.
What should we do?

I have had four children (2 without any pain meds), gallbladder attacks & a serious kidney stone obstruction and in my opinion gallbladder is seriously painful to endure.  For me worst pain was kidney stone, then gallbladder very close behind and then natural childbirth two times.

Hope that helps with how I rate the pain.

Glad your sister is doing okay now.

Thank you.

My sister decided to go with the surgery and is now recovering its her 9th day now after the operation and she has good improvements.

We have the results of the biopsy of her gallbladder and it says chronic cholecystitis. There were no lymph nodes inside the gallbladder. You see I was against the surgery because I would tried to save her gallbladder. Everytime I open up about my idea she just cries and she says "Your always right, you dont consider the pain I have to suffer" Is it really painful? .Was it the right decision or we could have used the " watchful waiting" and administered treatment?

Hi, what was the report? were there stones/blocking the duct? depending on the cause her doctors would have proceeded with the surgery. As the lymph nodes were enlarged it could also be due to a tumor. Postoperative histopathology study will give a conclusive diagnosis based on which her doctors will decide on the plan of care. Good luck with her therapy. Regards.
