Why am I having Pain still and What do I need to do to stop it?

on January 1st I started having very bad pains in my stomach and the upper left side I was swollen and had been for about a year. I was at the urgent care for 10 hours before they told me I had gallstones and my gallbladder was inflamed and my white blood count was low. I had to go to the ER and on the 2nd I had surgery and had my gallstones/bladder removed. starting last month the swelling and pain came back and the pain is on my right and left side randomly and it hurts almost as bad as when I had the gallstones. I need to know if I have to go to the ER again or if its normal. Please help me I'm only 22 and have a family to take care of I need to know something, my drs wont help

I had my gallbladder removed shortly after I had my son, my mom works in surgery so she got me the best Dr she could because In about 10% of cases after they remove your gallbladder you may still have a clog in your bile duct which will cause pain as if you never had your gallbladder removed. The Dr I had checks for that before he closes up the surgery, out of all 3 hospitals around me there is only ONE Dr who checks for this..... I had a clog in my bile duct and had to go for a second surgery a few hours after my first.... If you are still experiencing pain I recommend you ask your Dr if it is possible you have a clog. Goodluck I hope your pain Is gone soon I know how bad it hurts!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello and hope you are doing well.

Postcholecystectomy syndrome (PCS), occurs after removal of the gallbladder. PCS is caused by alterations in bile flow due to the loss of the reservoir function of the gallbladder. Two types of problems may arise. The first problem is continuously increased bile flow into the upper GI tract, which may contribute to gastritis. The second consequence is related to the lower GI tract, where diarrhea and colicky lower abdominal pain can occur as the bile is continuously secreted. This can be treated with cholestyramine, which is a bile acid sequestrant, which binds bile in the gastrointestinal tract. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
