when to see a doc

I had what I think was a gallbladder sttack 3 nights ago with abd pain, nausea, dry heaves, vomitting, terrible pain between my shoulder blades and left axilla. (I know chole pain is usually rt back and shoulder). I was found to have gall stones 4 years ago when I had an appe but had no problem with them until now. The nausea and vomitting is now gone but I am still quite sore on my back and RUQ. It is sore to palpate area of gall bladder. Wondering if the attack is over and the pain will eventually go away or if I should seek medical care now.

Hello and hope you are doing well.

You could be suffering from an attack of cholecystitis. The stones can chronically irritate the gall bladder wall and cause inflammation and pain. You need therapy with antibiotics and anti inflammatories. And once the inflammation has subsided, you may need to plan for surgery. Please contact your concerned physician at the earliest.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
