i'm having trouble having a BM

sometimes i don't go for 2 weeks. when i do go, it isn't hard or small as it is with usual constipation. i went to the doctor and she prescribed miralax and stool softeners for me. i've been taking them for a week and it hasn't made any difference except given me cramps. also when i was at the doctor, she had x-rays taken, and the only thing the report said was that i had medium to large stool in my colon. i eat very healthy, drink plenty of water, exercise daily for at least an hour, and i'm 15. can this be something serious?

If you are in the US, motilium is only available by certain doctors that are allowed to prescribe it, so basically it is not available in the US.

I'd try metamucil and if that doesnt work and ???? the motility also.  Motilium has helped many people!

Constipation for two weeks is not normal.  The peristalsis (movement) of your intestines is not behaving correctly.  You should ask your doctor for referal to a gastrointestinal specialist.  Try to pick one out that is very experienced and give her that GI doctor's name as who you want to be referred to.  Chronic constipation can increase your risk of developing colon cancer.

It is probably just constipation but if it continues or doesn't get better then you should look into further testing.  You should try eating more fiber and make sure you are eating enough fruits and vegetables.  I have found that miralax gives me cramps and I switched to milk of magnesia which seemed to help without making me cramp.
