STOMACH PROBLEM - I NEED HELP

I was wondering if anyone has had anything like this. I started almost a year ago having slight upper abdominal stomach pains. They have progressed to severe pains with profusive vomiting and sometimes diarrea. I have been taking to emergency 4 times in the past 6 months. Once by ambulance. I have a GI specialist and have had a colonoscopy, endoscopy, abdominal ultrasound and just today went for a HIDA scan. So far they can't seem to find out what is causing this. I can't live with this anymore and when I have my attacks I just want to die. Any ideas? Common problems? HELP!

A HIDA scan is when they inject you with a radioactive dye and study the function of the gallbladder.

Yes. They tested me for HPylori, and nothing. That's what I was kinda hoping it was.

Wow - sounds like me!  Hate to tell you that they have not figured what mine is either, and I have been doing this for years.  You are right that you just want to die, the pain is so bad.  Mine is accompanied by heartburn also, sometimes a few days before I will get an attack.  They have done practically every test on me also, but what is an HIDA scan?  I have had extensive blood work done and many colonoscopys, only one showing anything and that was ischemic colitis, but the next one I had they said it was no longer there.  I do take aciphex once a day, which does help I suppose, but I still have some heartburn.  I am at a loss as to what to do.  If you find out any more please let me know, I feel for you!

Wait for the HIDA scan results to come back (I hope they did a CCK injection?), but it sounds a lot like you may be having gallbladder issues. While you're waiting, stay on a very low fat diet and see if its of any help.

If the HIDA scan seems to be okay, talk to your doc about if they saw any sludge on the ultrasound of the gallbladder or if you could be having underlying spasms of the biliary system - which can sometimes feel very much like a gallbladder attack.

Maybe a food allergy or Celiacs (reaction to gluten)?
