I am currently having a lot of abdominal pain. Mainly in the upper left, and my lower right sides. The pain in both of these areas aren't constant, but appear to be sticking around more often in the last week. I have no gallbladder, so that isn't the issue. I have had pancreatitis (unknown cause) twice, but he last time was 11 years ago. It doesn't feel like pancreatitis as when I had that I lost a lot of weight, and I haven't lost any weight now. In the past week the nausea has increased. I have been taking Zofran (nausea medication), but it only helps temporarily. I do have acid reflux, but it has been controled for many years. Also....this may not be associate at all, but I have begun coughing after everything that I eat. It can be as little as a tic-tac, soups, broth, rice, meats, etc. The coughing last for approximately one hour, and has even begun occuring after drinking water or any liquid. It's annoying, but nothing to go to the doctor about (I hope).
The pain is my main question. I do not want to go to the ER, but my gastro doctor is out of town and his nurse keeps advising me to go to the ER. I don't like the ER, because I feel my issue isn't an emergency, and plus the nurses and doctors are always do rude and treat the patients like coming to the ER is wasting thier time.
If anyone could shed some light on this issue I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
