Hi everybody, I'm a 19 yr old female with the SAME problem as everyone here. I have been bloating every single day for 6 months now and it's driving me mad. I have a bit of anxiety but have been on lexapro for 2 months and no part of that is helping my bloating. I can see my stomach every day and it looks like I'm in the early to mid months of pregnancy; it constantly feels like I'm going to pop. It's at it's minimum in the morning and as I eat through the day, the worse it gets, till at night, I'm in extreme discomfort from all the pressure. I cry sometimes because I wonder what in the world it could be, because something is obviously going wrong in my body. I have had an ultrasound of abdomen and stomach and HIDA scan ( to determine if it's my gall bladder) ( the results were " normal" but my GI still thinks it's my gall bladder from nausea I had after the test). I've also had a Colon and Endoscopy and both looked normal except for some possible GERD. I've taken an allergy test and found that I was gluten intolerant, so have taken everything out that is humanly possible. I have tried eliminating dairy, different vegetables, eggs.... everything I know to do, and the bloating is just as bad whether I eat one thing or another. I almost don't feel like continuing to live if this is what life is going to amount to. I have dreams of traveling and studying Geography but I'm never going to be comfortable with this problem. I really hope we can someday find an answer to this unexplained suffering. People always say " at least you're not in worse pain", but they don't realize just how painful this issue is, chronic bloating is uncomfortable  and strains the whole body.
Just wanted to share my story, but I can't believe so many of us suffer with this...and there's just no dang answer.
Good luck and many blessings everyone. I'd make everyone better if I had one wish because this sure doesn't make for a very happy quality of life..

Bloating is often linked to health concerns like IBS but foods contribute immensily to bloating. Raw vegetables and fruits, liquid foods (shakes), coffee, alcohol, white sugars, high fat foods, and for some people dairy products. There are different foods for everyone, some people get bloated around fibre rich foods like whole grain breads so sourdough is better. Stress is a big factor also so try and unwind and relax while taking a food journal to find out what your sensitive foods are.

Hope this helps even a little bit!

Hi, I am also suffering from odd stomach problems. I was supposed to go to the gastro-whatever doctor today, but she went on vacation, How nice. Lately I have only been able to has a bowel movement once or twice a week, sometimes not for weeks at a time. My pee was extremely cloudy this morning, so I hope it's not something dealing with pregnancy. I use the patch though, and I am pretty safe, so I don't think that is what it is, since my periods are heavy and on-time. All day I am bloated, gasy, and have headaches. I usually am pretty tired no matter how much sleep I get. I just feel really crummy all around. Every night before I go to bed I am so bloated I could shoot myself. My doctor told me that I have IBS, and put me on meds, but I stopped taking them because they made me **** myself. I don't know what to do really at this point, I have to rescedule my appointment, but I am oh-so scared.

I am a 48-year-old female who has had gradually increasing bloating and now painfully bloated upper and lower stomach.  I am under severe stress now and am going through the steps to resolve this.  When I am calm and not provoked, the bloating goes down and actually goes away.  When stress is high, it comes back with a vengence.  I had a CT scan one year ago which showed nothing.  I am a very healthy eater, no dairy, no red meat, no coffee, I do drink wine and a lot of water.  I  have tried colon cleanses, but that does not seem to be the problem.  I find that I tend to hold my breath a lot; could that with swallowing air improperly be causing this.  I have shared this with every doctor for three years; thyroid tests are normal.  Please help me find a cause for this.  Thank you.  CZ
