Chronic Abdominal Pain.

I had over 14" of my colon removed back in 2006, since then I've complain and complained about the pain in my abdomen, my doctor sent me to a pain management doctor who claims there is nothing he could do, and told my doctor to put me on the fentanly patch, I've been on this pain medication since then,  she won't send me to see someone about the pain. and it never goes away, I can't seem to do much of anything, walking more then 5 minutes hurts to much, and standing the same thing happens, I've asked her to send me to someone else because I need referrals to go see anyone. This pain has taken my life away from me, I've tried to get on disability but I keep getting the same answer "NO". I go to the bathroom just fine, everyday, with no problems, Sometimes, I'll be nothing at all and I just start to sweat, a lot, until my clothes are all wet and I have to change them, I've lived in front of a fan for years now. I've been in and out of the emergency room so many times, I'm tired of going, all they do is give me a ct-scan and tell me they don't see anything & to go home and contact my doctor. I've got nothing but a run around for years I need help. What should I do???  Who do I go see? I can't live this way forever. this pain has taken everything I ever owned, and I've been told its real and not just in my head. Please can someone help me...
my doctor has told me time after time that she has NO idea whats wrong with me, and she doesn't know why she's writing me out a prescription for fentanly.  I have to go see her because of my insurance, I don't work because of the pain and can't afford to go see anyone else.   Please what should I do.

Finally someone else who seems like they have the same problem as my husband. This has been going on for about 8 years. He is in pain mgmt. also, but does not get by on what they give him.  He is to the point where he does not want to live anymore. In 2008 we were at the Mayo clinic for me to have a transplant. He managed to get in to see a gastro doctor while we where there. He talked to him for about 5 minutes and said it sounded like he had chronic pancreatitus.(After 4yrs. of nothing from every kind of doctor here in Knoxville.) Anyway he ran the test and that is what he had or at least part of his problem. My husband and I never thought that was all there was to it, becauses if you don't eat anything,it's hard to get his pancreus inflamed. Up until about 3 months ago he had managed to deal with the pain but he hasn't eaten a meal in over 4 years. To me that would throw up a red flag at the hospital, but it didn't seem to bother them a bit.(I bet if they had to go without food for a couple of days, they would find out real fast what was wrong) But anyway after many trips to the hospital and them not finding anything he was labeled as a drug seeker. It didn't  seem to matter that we would tell them he has pain meds and that is not why he was there. He wanted to know what was wrong. Well they still labeled him that way. He also has a problem that his blood pressure does not increase with pain, so that didn't help him either . We now have a doctor who is trying to figure out what he has.  He said his blood is too thick and he has blood clots, he also said his veins are narrow from build up. I don't understand all of this but anyway he is telling us that the clots are backing up and not allowing the blood to flow properly, which is causing the pain.  Eating food also interfers with the blood flow. This past week he told us he   PAI-1. I have tried to read up on this, but I don't see the connection. He just said that it has to do with the thick blood and the clots.  There was also one other thing that he was tested for, this is what we thought he had. The test is called "Arteriorgram" on the mesenteric artery. It could be blocked off some.He also had part of his colon removed in 2003, I would really like to talk to you more about this if possible.I have never found anyone who has had this type of problem before. Maybe we could help each other a little. My name is Debbie of Knoxville, TN

I would go to a gastrenologist hun. Even if you have to pay for the 1 visit. It sounds like to me that could be a sign of IBS..or a possible obstruction that is not noticed, unless further testing is done.

Good luck, as i have experienced this b/4 and not nearly as bad as you are.
