Chronic Nausea

I am 22 years old and have had chronic nausea for around 2 years now. I was born with a hiatal hernia... I've had and endoscope passed and had biopsies ran as well as a cbc and comprehensive profile of blood and a gluten panel ran.. all coming back within normal limits. The gastroenterologist that I am going to doesn't seem to think that my hernia has anything to do with my nausea... any idea what could be causing this crippling symptom???

Ok great you have some people helping you through this. My main symptoms are heartburn, trouble swallowing, dry cough, nausea. The PPI's did help for 10 years so keep taking them and they should help. But I am now trying to get off them...and having to do the trial by error diet. I have good and bad days. Today was a bad one....lots of discomfort. Yes, I agree i am too sick of feeling sick. It will be interesting for you  to see wht the doc says. Good luck.

I do have a family doctor as well as a Gastroenterologist. I've also had an abdominal ultrasound and a hida scan to check my gallbladder function. I've heard GERD thrown around quite often, but I have been on quite a few different acid medicine. I am now on a proton pump inhibitor.. nausea is still there but I've only been on this new medicine for a couple days. Do you find any of these medicines to help you? My nausea is almost all the time. I will get it as soon as I wake up, everytime I eat lasting to 3-4 hours after or until I take Phenergan. I don't get a lot of heartburn. I also have diarrhea about 1-2 times a week... I'm just sick of feeling sick. I have a follow up appt tomorrow with my GE dr to see what is next.

Hi...I have chronic nausea and I have advanced stages of Gerd. Have you look at Gerd (Gastro-esophagal-reflux-disease?) or any other symptoms? I gather you do not have a doctor you can talk to about this, eh?

Hi!  Do you find a particular time of day worse than others?  Does this happen during eating?  After eating?  Or is it constant?  Are you feeling anxious or are you depressed?  Many types of negative moods are affect the gastro system.  If you are not finding this current physician to be to your liking, why not ask your family doctor for some names, or go to the Gastroenterology department of a good hospital in your area.  Best of luck.  Keep in touch.
