Clonidine/cat après

Right or wrong, I was diagnosed with a motility disorder.  Doc wants me to try Clonidine, 1/2 pill once a day then increase.
I took the first one last night and have been horribly sick all day.  Not sure if it is my regular problems that ate worse ( stomach ache, nausea, bloating) or the med.
Anyone?

Thank you for your response. I did start the 1/2 Clonidine once a day about 6 days ago. Also reduced my Prozac to 10 mg once a day.  So far, BP and heart rate have been ok, though I am normally on the low side.  Tried skipping the Prozac yesterday but can't say I notice a difference with these medications.  I am still waking up during the night with stomach grumbling which progresses to stomach ache then nausea.  I get up and take an Omeprazole then take 1/2 Alprazolam about 1-2 hours later.  Now my  morning routine. I am almost afraid to eat anything, try to watch what I do eat and have lost about 20 lbs. now.  :-(
I have an appt at Stanford on Friday with another GI motility specialist to see what she says. After I made this appt. I find out she trained under the doctor that diagnosed the motility disorder and my GI doctor here also knows her and did a fellowship with her under that doctor.  I hope I can get an unbiased opinion!!!  Says she deals with IBS, motility issues, nausea, etc.  Hope we are not making another 2-3 hour trip for nothing.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there!

Well, without a detailed clinical evaluation it would be difficult to comment on the issue. Either being a likely possibility; if the symptoms are mild-moderate, I would suggest continuing with the medication. While if the symptoms are moderate-severe, you may discontinue the medication for a few days and seek a review with your treating doctor if a dosage reduction would be required before restarting the medication.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
