Continual Clear Vomiting

Advice would be very gratefully recieved from any qualified person please. My daughter (19yrs) has special needs as she is microcephalic and mentally disabled. She is normally very happy and mobile and enjoys video's etc. She has always enjoyed food although is limited in her range.
About ten weeks ago something happened and she suddenly stopped eating and drinking. We thought at the time she either had a sore throat or nausea virus as she was holding the food in her mouth and refusing to swallow. She also stated hiccoughing violently after food and then later vomiting clear liquid at the first few mouthfulls.
In the past ten weeks three of us have been struggling to get her to eat or drink by giving her lots of tiny amounts. She has maintained her weight of about 6.5 stone. The doctor gave her a proton pump inhibitor one week ago but today and tonight she has still been continually vomiting this clear liquid.
The vomiting action looks more like a cough as if she feels there is some pressure in her chest and this is always followed by half a cup of clear liquid. She had some red blood at one point but no coffee grounds. Her bowels are opening okay although her stools are bigger than usual. Her urinalysis is normal. Her nail beds are very very blue - although she's never had very good peripheral circulation. She can't express herself. The doctor has sent blood for thyroid, anaemia and helicobacter. We're getting deperate.
Many thanks,
Bruce.

CalGal,
Hi. She's a little more settled since last night (I think we're in different time zones). I gave her an antihistamine - which I know sounds weird but it's harmless and she suffers from periodic severe urticaria. I want to see if it makes any difference. She's been rubbing her right ear as if she has an irritation there. To me this doesn't look like a food allergy, but with my daughter you just never know; she has a whole big bag of tricks in there. I'll let you know if we come up with a definite solution of any kind. Of course we are still waiting for the blood results and we have to also get a stool sample.

What it brings to mind is when Barry Marshall did the first 'tests' on himself of H. pylori. The reports on that 'study' say that within a week of 'drinking' H. pylori, he was bringing up copious amounts of clear liquid.

I hope you'll soon have an answer.

Thanks CalGal. There is no sign of steattorhoea or foul smelling stools. She is more settled this morning but has given a couple of coughs which don't bode well for the day. Thanks again. B.

Are her stools bulky and fatty/greasy in any manner? Has the odor changed? If so you might want to consider pancreatitis problems. Have they checked both her liver enzymes and pancreatic enzymes?
