Diverticulitis diagnossed by CT scan

Has anyone had a ct scan and been told diverticulitis and you NOT HAVE IT?  I have had 2 when i have gone to the ER in severe pain.  I have had 2 colonoscopy's in the last year and a half and know i do not have it.  Something is giving the appearance of it.  I am so tired of having test done.  I have a great gastro dr but I am taking a break right now from being tested.  This is a 5yr rollercoaster of ups and downs.  I need to pay off some of my recent medical bills before I add more to the stack.  If you have any ideas of what would give this appearance please forward the information on to me.

Thank you for reading.

I'm sorry.  I was trying not to bore anyone with details of it all.  I thought diverticulitis was pockets in the colon.  I have had 2 colonoscopy''s by 2 different gastro dr's in the last 2 yrs and I do not have these pockets.  I was told everything was "normal".

The pain is severe at times.  So much so that I end up at the emergency room for relief.  I have been told everything from nervous stomach to IBS.  My gastro dr now suspects crohns or celiac.  Previous dr ruled out crohns by colonoscopy but my dr now wanted to do his own testing.  This is why 2 test in 2 yrs.  I have lost weight.  When I have a flare up of what ever it is.....my weight drops way to low.  I look malnurished even when able to eat.  I know i am not absorbing my calories.  When able to eat I EAT and dont gain past a certain weight.  I am tired all the time and have major headachs constantly.

I just didn't know if I could have diverticulitis without having the "pockets or sacks" in the colon.

Hi , i do not ubderstand your question, if the ct scan is showing diverticulitus who told you , you do not have it. Diverticulitus can flare up and became extrememley painful and cause a fever . When it is not in a flare up you still have diverticular desease and this is a nagging all the time. I am no doctor but have had surgery for diverticulitus and no what it is like. Dont give up and get it sorted because you should not be living with this pain, let me know how you get on and take care.
