Fecal Discharge.... please help me

I am 20 years old and for as far as I can remember back to when I was a little kid... I would get fecal leakage 30-60 minutes after I had a bowel movement. I will go to wipe and it will almost be like I never did. It is so embarrassing. Sometimes it even happens before I go to the bathroom. I actually just got the courage today to go to the doctor and tell him about it and he put me on a Mira-lax cleanse to kind of "reset" my colon. He also said I need more fiber in my diet. Does it sound like this will work? What does it sound like this problem is? and lastly if this cleanse and eating better doesn't work what could this problem be? Please answer I really need a piece of mind. Thankss

Fiber is probably a good idea, but if it doesn't help, ask the doc to check to refer you for a defecogram. It's a test that will show any muscular dysfunction or problems with defecating.

Adding more fiber to your diet should help, but I'm not so sure about the Miralax.  This could be caused by a bunch of things, but if the fiber doesn't help you should go back to your doctor and ask for some testing to determine what could be causing this.
