pain in right side ofback after gallbladder surgery

Hi, I am 2 1/2 weeks post gallbladder surgery and I am still having pain in my back and in the front under my right breast which sometimes shoots up into my neck and shoulder. I went back to work last week and Now I am thinking it was to early. I was wondering if the pain is normal and is this something I am just going to have to live with?...Has anyone else experience this problem?

Hi, Thanks for your response....I have been in contact with my doctors office and they seem to be putting me off....(at least thats how I feel)......I have been trying to get them to listen to me but all I get is take 800 mg of tylenol and if it doesnt get better then call back....I am going to do as they say and take my 800mg of tylenol every 4-6 hours and if after 3 weeks I am not feeling better than I will be calling them....

I'm not sure about everyone else but it was normal for me. It's been 3 weeks since my surgery, and the pain in my back is just now going away. My doctor told me that it would take up to 4-6 months to totally recover from surgery, and at 2 weeks your body is just beginning to kick into the healing process. So it's probably still too early tell. But if you feel that your pain is unusual or extreme in any way, then you should contact your surgeon and let him or her know.
