Help my chronically bloated stomach

I have had chronic bloating for about 5 straight months now.  I wake up with it, and it gets worse throughout the day.  I eat healthy exercise daily (running, spinning).  I have had an endoscopy, colonoscopy, small bowel follow through, CT Scan, Ultrasound internal and external.  I've been on antibiotics, pro/prebiotics, tried eliminating gluten, dairy, nuts ect at different times nothing is working.  I have been diagnosed with GERD and Bile Reflux which my gastro Dr tells me are not related to the bloating.  He says it's SIBO Small Intestinal Bacterial Overload, and I did try the FOD MAP Diet to no avail.  It's so frustrating my self esteem is effected not to mention constant discomfort.  I'm on Urso acid and Prilosec and nothings helping.  I'm not constipated nor gassy either.   I'm a 39 year old female and in great physical shape although I don't look it because I look anywhere from 3-6 months pregnant, any suggestions?  ~Very Discouraged

Ok thanks, I'm seeing a doctor for a 2nd opinion Aug 1.  Someone from Brigham and Women's Hosp.  Hopefully they have some answers.

Thanks!

Hum, that's puzzling.  It could be some sort of malabsorption problem but that's just a guess.

Ok, so I was retested results=normal.  I kind of figured that because the bloating is so constant although it does get worse when I eat, it is there when I wake up and hasn't gone down for 6 months straight.  Any more suggestions?  C-Section :)

I would recommend getting retested because if it is negative then you need to look at other causes for your problems.

No not retested, but my gastro did mention a retest.  I'll ask him about it again.

Thank you,

Michelle

Have you been retested to see if you are still positive for it?

Yes came up +.  I've been on all the antibiotics over the past 5 years off and on with no changes.  Neomycin, Azithromycin and Flagyl, Rifaxamin.  (There's 1 more I can't remember)

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  Have you had a hydrogen breath test to test for SIBO?
