Help understanding the hida scan

I have lived with & paid for my pain many years on my Right upper quad....became a Vegetatarian and the later as close to a Vegan I coud be.  Last week ended up in the ER with severe paid, nausea vomiting and headache....I soon passed out,  I went to the Doc's office who sent me over for a CCK Hida scan that couldn't be set up until the following Firday. After a week of feeling like poo most days I went in for the test,  My Right side was killimg me....I lay there for an hour and they could't 'see' me gallbladder????  Don't understand this and then they said they needed to give me Morphine.  At first it was ok but then my lungs started to lose funtion, I started to have a seizure and everything statrted feeling really weird.I was allergic to the meds. Finally they got me back under control....but I still have no answers about my tests???  Why would you not be able to see the Gall Bladder????  What was the morphine for????

Thanks so much for your reply....didn't realize how 'out of it' I was when I was writing. Sorry... They had me on so many drugs it was ridiculous...but hey I am still alive ;o)  So, in your experience when the common bile duct is blocked do people usually have their gall bladder removed or should I be pursuing other avenues?....pain is still present.  Has been for years....

Again thanks for your reply!!! It was very much appreciated!!!  All the best to you

If the tube off of the common bile duct to the GB was blocked, the organ would not show up during the test.

The morphine causes contractions of the gallbladder and the bile duct.
