MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
A person with hiatus hernia can have   dull pains in the chest, shortness of breath, palpitations and swallowed food causing discomfort in lower esophagus until it passes on to stomach. Patients may benefit by elevating the head of the bed and avoid lying down directly after meals.Antisecretory drugs like proton pump inhibitors and H2 receptor blockers can be used. Surgery is indicated in cases with chronic reflux. I hope it helps.
Best luck and regards!
