I had the same problem. I went 100% gluten free and chemical free internally and externally, added certain extra vitamins (even though doc said I didn't need them, but they can't measure the quantity of certain things at the cellular level anyway), a few herbal supplements (not chinese herbals with strange names but more like an herbal liver cleanse tincture/pill with certain plants and oils in it), and prescription Welchol.
The diet and supplements help my liver detox and function better I think, making digestion and immunity MUCH better. It stopped the hives or reduces them to a manageable level, like a few here from stress, food, environ, etc. However, 9 years after having my gallbladder out, I still need to do rounds of the detox/vitamin concoction a few times a year if I don't take all those things daily. I imagine taking all those things daily can possibly have negative long term effects but I find conflicting research on it....
I also have to take 2 Welchol tablets 2x every day. I dropped down to 1-2 tablets a day total to see if I could manage my IBS and allergy issues and hives with diet and lifestyle, but after 2 weeks, I think the bile in my system somewhere is bringing back my horrible head to toe hives and fatigue and arthritis. Even the glands on the back of my head are swollen and very hard today.
I did 1 dose of everything I had this morning, added some hot green tee with oil of oregano and honey, waited 2 hours, took 2 welchol, and the hives are already subsiding. So I need to do this routine 2x a day PLUS eat 2-3 fresh cloves of garlic per day PLUS do lymphatic drainage exercises and showers until I feel healthier and all hives are gone. This is will likely take 3-10 days. It gets expensive.
I wonder if anyone has successfully sued their surgeon for taking out their gallbladder when it causes this much of a problem 9 years later and your problems were likely originally due to poor diet and lifestlye and could have been corrected without surgery? I miss work, I spend $$$ on trying new things, docs think I'm just complaining but I put up with a lot. I itch, burn, arthritis acts up, food allergies, seasonal allergies, everything acts up when I get like this. My quality of life is gone more days than not. I'm chronically depressed but don't want to take pills for that due to possible side effects since my system is so touchy now.
I had gallbladder surgery 3 weeks ago and started with hives one week ago? Can someone tell me if this is going to last and/or any suggestions as to what to do?
hi, are you fully cured now?
I first experienced urticaria one month before gb removal, also experienced severe pain in abdomen; found gallstone in gb & removed it 2.5 months ago. My hives were gone, but it raised again from last one month. No antihistamine works, no specific trigger found. How long I've to carry this? suggest please..
Is there any treatment to correct damage to the bile duct? Surgery? My husband has been suffering from hives since removal of his gallbladder almost two years ago with no answers from his doctor except prescriptions of steroids and stomach meds.
Oh my gosh. I'm right there with ya. I had mine out and 5 mo later HIVES. On 6 meds. But only thing that makes it go away is Prednisone. I've had $4000.00 of blood tests. Now i'm wondering about bile being the reason. I have had hives for 4 mo now. ugh.
so was there any treatement? I had my gb removed 6 months ago and I'm starting to have hives. I wonder if is related to gb surgery or something going on as a consquence of it.
I had the same thing post gb removal, it was a reaction to bile due to bile duct damage that occurred in the gb removal surgery.
was wondering if your wife is still having these hives?
Thanks for the response. To answer your questions, not that I am aware of. She has had countless blood tests over the past few months, and nothing has shown up.
We are looking for the 5th doctor to try and help. We have seen an internist, dermatologist, allergist, and an ent.
Thanks for the post.
Any possibility of food intolerance issues? Anyone in the family with celiac problems - gluten-intolerance, or other?
